Terms of use

The rules for the site and the app. HockeyOnline is a free hobby project; please read sections 3 and 7 in particular.

This is a translation of the German Nutzungsbedingungen. The German version is the original and prevails.

1. Scope

These terms apply to the use of the site hockeyonline.app and the HockeyOnline app (my.hockeyonline.app and demo.hockeyonline.app). The provider is Einig Investitionsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, Leonhardweg 8, 86842 Türkheim, Germany (see the legal notice). By using the app you accept these terms.

2. What HockeyOnline is

HockeyOnline is a non-commercial hobby project in beta. It is free to use. There is no entitlement to particular functions, further development or support.

The demo contains fictional data only and needs no sign-in. For real games you sign in to the HockeyData league system with your league’s credentials; your league issues them, not us. Use only credentials you are authorised to use.

3. The official game report

The official game report is made in the federation’s system: in eGREP and in the HockeyData league system of hockeydata GmbH. HockeyOnline is an independent app that works with them, and it is neither affiliated with nor commissioned by hockeydata GmbH, any ice hockey federation or any league.

The scorekeeper stays responsible for the content of the official game report and for submitting it on time, under the rules of their federation and league. Check that the report is complete and correct before closing a game, and keep another way ready for emergencies, such as eGREP or the paper sheet.

4. Acceptable use

Use HockeyOnline only for running games, which is what it is made for. In particular, you must not: access HockeyData through our server without authorisation or try out credentials; fetch data automatically in bulk (scraping) or use our interfaces outside the app; get around limits and protections; disrupt or overload the service; use the AI voice for anything other than game announcements; enter unlawful content.

If you break these rules, we may block access in whole or in part.

5. Your data

The app stores game data in your browser. Back up important data yourself and close games in good time: if you clear your browser data or change devices, locally stored data is gone and we cannot restore it.

You are responsible for entering and using data of players, officials and other people, including minors, lawfully. How we handle data ourselves is set out in the privacy policy.

6. Availability and changes to the service

We aim for stable operation but do not guarantee availability. The app also depends on third-party services such as HockeyData, Cloudflare and ElevenLabs. We may change, restrict or discontinue functions and end the service altogether; where possible, we announce this in advance.

7. Liability

HockeyOnline is provided free of charge and without warranty. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, for defects we fraudulently concealed and under the German Product Liability Act. Otherwise our liability is excluded as far as the law allows.

In particular, within this exclusion we are not liable for wrong or lost game data, for a game report that was not submitted or submitted late, or for consequences of that, such as rulings or penalties by a federation.

8. Rights in HockeyOnline

The software, design and texts of HockeyOnline are protected. You may use the app within these terms; you receive no further rights.

9. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example when the app or the law changes. The version published here applies. We announce material changes on this page and, where possible, in the app.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you habitually reside remain unaffected.

If both parties are merchants, legal entities under public law or special funds under public law, the place of jurisdiction is the provider’s registered office, as far as the law allows.

If any provision is invalid, the others remain valid. Questions about these terms: hello@hockeyonline.app.
