Your club, organised around the ice.

Club management is where a club runs HockeyOnline: ice times per rink and team, a duty rota that keeps home games staffed, volunteers with their qualifications, roles per team and season, and an overview of what is still open. The club manager invites people with a link, everyone signs in with Google, Microsoft, Apple or an e-mail code, league passwords stay locked away, and every change is logged.

Who uses it: Club managers, board members, ice time planners and everyone who keeps a club running.

How it works

  1. Set up the season

Teams, seasons and roles, plus the weekly ice times per rink.

  2. Share the ice

Assign ice times to teams; several teams can share one slot. Coaches build practices on top.

  3. Staff the home games

Define duties and who is qualified for them; the rota offers them fairly and reminds everyone in time.

  4. Invite the people

A link or a QR code in the dressing room; the club manager approves.

  5. Keep an eye on it

One overview of every team’s calendar, open duties for upcoming home games and attendance trends.

What you can do

Ice time planning

Weekly ice times per rink, season and team, with shared slots and exceptions for tournaments and holidays.

A rota that is fair
Table duties, kiosk, laundry and drivers, offered to whoever has done the fewest this season. Never forced.
Volunteers and qualifications
Who can keep score, who can run the clock, who has done the course: the rota only offers what fits.
Roles per team and season
Access is granted per team and season and renewed each season, so last year’s helpers do not keep the keys.
Sign-in without passwords
Google, Microsoft, Apple or a one-time code by e-mail (planned). Today our servers never store the league password.
A log of every change
Every change is logged with role, time and device, in a chained log where later edits stand out.

The home game that staffs itself

Walkthrough

Home game on Sunday. The scorekeeper spot is still open on Wednesday.

  1. The overview shows Sunday in orange: scorekeeper missing.

  2. The rota offers the duty to the qualified volunteer with the fewest duties this season.

  3. She accepts from the push notification. The scorekeeper seat for Sunday opens for her.

Tips from the rink

  • Enter the ice times once per season; practices, the ice schedule on the screens and the calendars all build on them.

  • Mark who has done the scorekeeper course; the rota will never offer the table to someone who has not.

  • Check the overview on Monday: every red spot on the weekend is still fixable.

Questions

Can we use HockeyOnline without the club platform?

Yes. You can open a game with the league password, just like in eGREP, without an account.

Who can see the league password?

Today nobody but the person who types it in: the app keeps the league password in memory only, and our servers never store it. With the club platform (planned), volunteers will not need to see it.

Can the ice times come from our existing calendar?

Yes. Paste the iCal link and the ice schedule follows it; the same link feeds the arena screens.
