Built for teams full of kids.

Most hockey players on HockeyOnline are children, so privacy is part of the design, not a setting. Children do not have accounts; today HockeyOnline has no user accounts at all, and profiles managed by parents or guardians are planned. Photos and public names need explicit consent, public screens show jersey numbers only unless the club opts in, game data stays on your device instead of on our servers, error reports are kept in the EU without names, and there are no ads and no tracking.

Who uses it: Parents and guardians, clubs with youth teams, and every coach who manages kids’ data.

How it works

  1. Guardians link once

Planned: each parent or guardian links their own account to the child once and acts for them in every club and team.

  2. Consent per club

Photo and public name are separate consents, given or revoked per club by the guardian.

  3. Public means careful

Screens and public pages show youth players by jersey number unless the club and the guardians opt in.

  4. Only what is needed

No birthdates or licence numbers on public surfaces, coarse absence reasons visible to staff only.

What you can do

No accounts for children

Children have no accounts; today nobody has one. Planned: each guardian gets their own login, and the child can take over later.

Explicit consent
Photos and public names only with the guardian’s consent, revocable at any time.
Numbers on public screens
Youth rosters on arena screens and public pages show jersey numbers only, unless opted in.
Data stays on the device
Game data stays in the browser on your device; we do not store it on our servers. Error reports, without names, are kept in a database in the EU.
No ads, no tracking
HockeyOnline does not show ads and does not track people for marketing.
You hold the delete key
Game data lives in your browser only. Clearing the site data deletes it, and there is no copy on our servers.

A new U9 player joins

Walkthrough

A family signs their daughter up for the U9. This is how it will work once accounts arrive (planned).

  1. Both parents create their own accounts and link the child.

  2. Mum gives consent for team photos, but not for the public name.

  3. On the arena screens the girl appears as #14; inside the team, coaches see her name.

Tips from the rink

  • Once accounts arrive (planned), both parents can link the same child; each answers for her with their own account.

  • Review consents at the start of each season; they can be changed at any time.

  • Absence reasons are kept coarse on purpose: nobody needs to know more than “unwell”.

What’s in it

  • Guardian-managed profiles for minors, one account per guardian (planned)
  • Separate consents for photos and public names, per club
  • Jersey numbers only for youth players on public screens and pages
  • Game data on your device, error reports in the EU
  • No ads, no marketing tracking
  • No copy of game data on our servers

Questions

From what age can a player have their own account?

There are no accounts yet. Once they arrive (planned): from the digital consent age, 16 in Germany and 14 in Austria. Below that, parents or guardians manage the profile.

Who sees my child’s name?

The team staff and teammates inside the team. Public screens and pages show the jersey number unless you and the club opt in.
