Your stream, with a scoreboard that knows the game.

HockeyOnline’s broadcast overlay puts a live score bug, penalty clocks, power-play graphics and goal cards on top of your club’s stream, driven by the same events the scorekeeper enters. Use it as a browser overlay, as an OBS browser source, or let the HockeyOnline Studio app burn it into the stream. Fans watch on hockeyonline.tv, where every game with video gets its own watch page.

Who uses it: Clubs that stream their games, from one volunteer with a camera to a full production.

Also works with livestreams from XbotGo and XbotGo Falcon.

How it works

  1. Design your look

Pick the position (lower third, top bar, corner), the elements, your colors and your logo. You get one overlay link.

  2. Choose your way to go live

Show it on the stream page, add it to OBS as a browser source, or open HockeyOnline Studio on the club computer.

  3. Press Go

Studio checks your computer and upload speed, then streams with the overlay burned in.

  4. The game drives the graphics

Goals, penalties and the clock trigger the graphics on their own. Nobody clicks along.

What you can do

Going live with HockeyOnline Studio

Walkthrough

The club streams the home game from a laptop at the camera platform.

  1. Open HockeyOnline Studio on the club’s Windows or Mac computer.

  2. Paste the camera or stream address.

  3. Pick your overlay look.

  4. Press Go. Studio checks your computer and upload speed, then streams with the overlay burned in.

Tips from the rink

  • Start with the lower third: it fits every camera angle and never hides the puck.

  • Let the lineup intro run during warm-up; it looks like TV and costs you nothing.

  • No video tonight? The game page simply shows the live score without a player.

What’s in it

  • Browser overlay on the stream page
  • OBS browser source
  • HockeyOnline Studio for Windows and Mac
  • Watch pages on hockeyonline.tv
  • Sponsor slots in the overlay

Questions

Does HockeyOnline host our video?

No. Your video stays on your own streaming platform or computer. HockeyOnline provides the overlay graphics, the live game data and the watch page.

Do we need a production crew?

No. The graphics trigger themselves from the game report, so one person at the camera is enough.
